aLIVE with Pariscope Studios

Our latest participant has a unique approach on jewelry-making.  This art form is the "result of an amalgamation of ideas, sensibilities and talents between Elena Korakianitou and Joanne Sugura".

My Saturday was blessed with the opportunity to visit a Pariscope Studios--space of raw beauty of unexpected composition.  Their materials are sourced from all over the US and Europe in order to express their visions of "how the world’s abundance is presented to them".

Beauty is found in the unexpected by Korakianitou and Sugura.  They uphold the Wabi Sabi belief that beauty isn't perfect--it can be shaped by the simple and the incomplete.

See the fruit of these artists' perspectives at aLIVE Fashion Show tomorrow at 7pm!

aLIVE with The Linnet Bird

Inspired by the painted desert of America’s southwest, The Linnet Bird was born...

3 one-of-a-kind Linnet Bird pieces designed for aLIVE!

As a recent transplant to the Seattle area, Carly Jane Lee recalls the varied hues of the Mojave desert on childhood trips with her family.

“My dad would love getting up right at dawn & would encourage my brother & me to go with him on hikes into the desert.” It was from these visual images of colored sands and multihued canyons that the palate of The Linnet Bird’s pieces would take shape.

“I wanted to create pieces that would embody the dazzling serenity of the desert.”

Incorporating influences from a foreign geography might be risky to those used to the temperate climates of the Northwest. “Beauty is universal, whether they originate from drier climates or from the oceans & mountains.” It’s this inclusive beauty that the Linnet Bird endeavors to showcase throughout it’s collection.

The Linnet Bird’s name originates from bird watchers & collectors from Europe’s royal families. Beginning in the 15th century, those who appreciated linnet birds, prized them for their ability to always carry a beautiful song. This capacity to sing despite being domesticated were valued to those who sought after the petite red-breasted bird. Even during the colder and darker months of the year the linnet bird would continue to sing it’s cheerful song.

“Everyone, no matter their success level, needs encouragement throughout their personal and professional lives,” says creator Carly Jane Lee—a perspective very in-line with the celebration that will take place at aLIVE Fashion Show.

It was through this perspective that the earrings in her collection celebrate the strong, simple yet enduring beauty derived from the linnet bird. The stones and desert gems are partnered onto these silver frameworks that emulate their strength from a small endearingly happy bird.

BEAUTIFUL!  Attend aLIVE Fashion Show on July 26th for the opportunity to see these gems fly down the runway, as you gain the chance to meet designer Carly Jane Lee and shop her wide assortment of beautiful creations.

aLIVE with Kakao at 415 Westlake

It is a refreshing sunny day in Seattle, and as I write this post, I enjoy an Americano, absorb the beautiful atmosphere of South Lake Union, and complete some work for aLIVE--what better a place to enjoy these activities than Kakao chocolate and coffee?

Sorry Starbucks, but I have found the best coffee in Seattle!  A sponsor for aLIVE Fashion show, this shop is located at 415 Westlake.  Yes, within the same venue aLIVE is set to take place!

Stop by Kakao for an extensive variety of chocolates from around the world, coffee produced by Herkimer, and an inspiring atmosphere set for work and conversation

Hmm...wondering what 415 Westlake looks like?  Kristina & Elise were curious.

Here is an inside view of our gorgeous venue!
